Fucking craziest/best/worst day of my life yesterday.
rainfootballwastewalkingbloodicecreampuke. in that order.
Okay, the day started with tailgating. It was raining and muddy wherever we went, so me and a couple friends decided to go back to the dorm until it was closer to the game. After some unexpected napping time, we got to the game.
The Iowa v. ISU game is the most exciting every year. It's an in-state rivalry. Honestly, any football game I see in the future will have to be absolutely epic to top this one. First half was kind of boring, even though Iowa was up 3-0 with the only field goal. I'm not even going to try and explain the rest of it. So many close calls, turnarounds, an epic touchdown, and Iowa getting a safety just to waste time. Amazing.
After the game we wasted a lot of time trying to figure out something to do. We ate at Panchero's, my first time. The tortilla really is the thing that makes it great. Then back to the dorm to get ready for a party, then we got some intelligence that the fuzz was hanging around the area. More wasting time.
Finally, we decided on a party on Johnson. We get there, it's huge and very hot inside. After we go around the house a bit just to find where everything is, we come back out, some people decide to hang back, me, another girl, and two of the guys go in. We weave through the packed room (which is technically two rooms but they're just separated by one of those border walls that looks like the wall was cut out of the middle, this is important later)and as we're making our way, we see a guy take out a lighter, light something on fire, and drop it. Just fucking drop it. Whatever he lit on fire was weird too. It looked like paper, but paper isn't engulfed in flames the instant it's lit. Anyway, someone stomped it out and we kept moving.
We're in the second-ish room of the two combined rooms, making our way to the kitchen with the drinks. Then, i just see this huge black guy turn around and punch this scrawny white guy in the face. Two feet in front of me. Me and the other girl are trying to push people back and get out while the black guy just starts whaling on the other guy. Most people start moving away, which is hard because it's so crowded, while the bravest(or most drunk)guys try to pull them apart and some join in the fight. The people in the first part of the room don't even know what's going on, making it really hard to push through them. I look over, and the guys we came in with are cornered, behind the black guy while he's still throwing punches in every direction while people are trying to stop him. As I'm escaping i see they finally stop everything, but i just want to get the fuck out. The other girl made it out a bit before me, and the guys were just a few seconds behind. One is covered in beer, the other has small drops of blood on his face. Someone else's blood. As we're telling the people who stayed behind what happened, this girl comes out and says something about a guy who was thrown into glass. Then, out the door came a guy with his shirt pulled up to his face, his hand on his eye, covered in blood.
Yeah, we left.
We came back to the dorm, some people went to bed. The roomie and Tom (blood splattered guy) went to KumandGo to get ice cream, i stayed in the room while Petes (beer covered guy) went to clean up. The roomie ans that guy came back, and so did the other. Five minutes later Peter gets a phone call from one of his roommates. Apparently, their third roomie got extremely drunk, came home with some person who helped him into bed, and threw up three times. In his bed. So, Tom and Peter left, came back about twenty minutes later. Both Peter and his roommate now hope to get Tom to somehow replace their puke roommate. Even if that doesn't happen, they'll still be able to get him kicked out of their room.
Overall, horrible day, but i really needed to write it. The only thing that could have made it worse would be Iowa's loss.
But they won. So. Yay.
